pain in the neck

...and back, since Tuesday. Don't know what the sam hill is causing it, and man is it annoying. I pity those with chronic pain in these areas. Went to the doctor yesterday, but not for me. Nicky had to have his 5 yr physical, the nasty pre-kindergarten one with all the booster shots. He did fantastic though, only grimacing for each of the four shots (2 in each thigh). He is really growing up. Just this week he told me he can't wear his Elmo jacket anymore because "at pre-school they'll make fun of me for liking Elmo and I DON'T."

In other news, Nate has me filling out an NCAA bracket again this year. The infamous 'swirl your finger in the air and land on ______' technique reveals Gonzaga, but neither this method nor eeny-meeny-miny-moe has served me well in the past.

Lastly, happy St. Patrick's day, a couple days late. My 1/8 Irish ancestry wasn't enough to inspire a post on the 17th. Sorry great grandpa Doherty.

I usually do a bracket with friends at 10 dollars per person, but i decided not to this year. I won 120 dollars in the college football bowl picks this year, which i know even less about than college basketball. I might as well go out on top.

i like to use my "mascot" method. Which mascot would win were they to really battle it out..and then you have to consider "home field advantage" (don't know how NCAA works for that part though.) For example, would a bear beat a dolphin, absolutely, but would a bear beat a dolphin underwater? It really is a lot of fun! Some are totally opinion on how it would pan out, but seems more exciting than coin toss to me.
